'Gengar Sleeping Bag' — Go Ahead, Put Your Head Inside, What Could Go Wrong?

Bandai releases a Gengar plush with a massive roll-out tongue blanket monstrocity

Who’s that Pokémon!? With that long rolled out tongue measuring an impressive 170cm (roughly 67in), you might think this new release from P-Bandai would be Lickitung, but it’s actually the ghost Pokémon Gengar, in sleeping bag (we think) form!

The name of this ‘plush’ roughly translates to “Definitely Wants to Lick You Gengar,” but is labeled “Gengar Who Absolutely Wants to be Licked” on the official P-Bandai listing. This isn’t the only strange choice of words: the listing also states “You can sleep with Gengar’s tongue !?” and “Let’s all be licked by Gengar !!” Hmm…

Now you can fall asleep with your head inside the mouth of the Pokemon whose signature attack is Dream Eater.

This plush is the second so far in Bandai’s strange, sleep-themed Pokémon plushies-for-adults collection, joining the previously-released Metapod Sleeping Bag. And sorry kids, when we say these are for adults, we mean it! Gengar’s listing specifically says it’s for ages 15 and up!

We can only guess what will come next in this odd collection — maybe we’ll be able to lounge on a massive futon Snorlax or be consumed and slowly digested in a Victreebel sleeping bag.

Purple text translation: “Ways to use Gengar: Insert your head while working from home. Sometimes when you’re feeling sleepy.”

This Gengar’s body measures 53cm x 48cm (about 21in x 19in) and is hollow inside when not filled with the plushie’s massive tongue.

The second wave of Gengar sleeping bags is now available for preorder from the P-Bandai webshop. They retail for ¥25,950 and are slated to ship in July 2021
