‘Rinkaku Ujikintoki,’ a FrogTree x Toy Chronicle Exclusive — On Sale July 13!

Herpetologists and dessert-lovers rejoice, Rinkaku Ujikintoki is on the way!

Resident sofubi specialist and lizard expert, FrogTree, is back with their newest: Rinkaku Ujikintoki! This one is dessert-themed and the small allotment will be released exclusively by our brothers over at The Toy Chronicle.

You probably recognize FrogTree’s Rinkaku sculpt as the hugely popular sofubi first released at Japan’s Wonder Festival 2019. Since that initial release, Rinkakus have spread far and wide, and have also received glorious custom paint jobs by industry giants like Candie Bolton and Tomodachi Island.

Rinkaku Ujikintoki is the newest iteration of the yokai lizard, and these ones take their name (and looks) from ujikintoki, Japanese green tea shaved ice. (If you have the chance to try this, don’t miss out!)

These sofubi are a glittery and mottled green, white, and brown, calling back to the green tea syrup, shaved ice (or mochi), and red bean paste of their namesake. Like all Rinkaku, these stand a healthy 6 inches tall and are high-quality Japanese slush-molded vinyl.

Rinkaku Ujikintoki will be released exclusively by The Toy Chronicle. They are priced at £85, with free shipping in the UK.

Only 20 units will be available for purchase starting July 13 @ 10am BST (4am CST) via the TTC Shop.
