All About the ‘KAWS: WHAT PARTY’ Museum Exhibit and the ‘SEPARATED’ Online Drop Tomorrow!

Sold out in-person at the Brooklyn Museum’s KAWS: WHAT PARTY exhibit, SEPARATED will see an online drop tomorrow at noon

Just last Friday, the KAWS: WHAT PARTY solo exhibition hit the Brooklyn Museum, and with it a selection of new KAWS (real name Brian Donnelly) merchandise. Among that hypebeast new-new sits SEPARATED, a version of COMPANION that’s as cute as it is depressing.

KAWS: WHAT PARTY is Donnelly’s first major museum exhibition in New York. It is a broad retrospective that goes back over two decades, examining the artist’s once-underground, now-explosive career in street art, pop art, and (anti) commercialism. With 167 curated objects, WHAT PARTY explores Donnelly’s earliest sketches and street work, and obviously his COMPANION and related figures.

The KAWS: WHAT PARTY exhibition runs until September 5. It is a ticketed event ($25 for adults, $16 for students and seniors, $10 for children). If you’re in the area, definitely don’t miss this one!

Of course, no KAWS event would be complete without merch, and this museum show is no different. In conjunction with this event, Donnelly is releasing his newest art book titled KAWS WHAT PARTY in pink, orange, yellow, black, and white/signed versions.

The KAWS WHAT PARTY art book is available for pre-order from Phaidon, MoMA, and presumably from the Brooklyn Museum, though their KAWS online store is currently offline. The books retail for $59.95 each.

SEPARATED

As for toys, the newest release titled SEPARATED has already dropped and sold out in-person at the Brooklyn Museum. Luckily for the rest of us, SEPARATED will also see an online release imminently.

SEPARATED comes in brown, grey, and black colorways. Each stands (sits?) at 7.75 inches tall, and is made of vinyl. They retail for $280 each, and drop tomorrow at 12 (noon) EST at KAWSONE.com.
