The Pokémon onslaught continues! This month sees some trading card game releases and restocks in the Invasion Toys shop, Sword and Shield in-game tournaments, Dynamax Crystals, promo starter ‘mon, and the announcement of the all-new Pokémon UNITE!

1. Pokémon TCG

Chilling Rein

Chilling Rein, the newest Pokémon TCG expansion, has just been released! Featuring over 190 new cards, this expansion includes some of the franchise’s greatest monsters. Metagross, Slowking, Volcanion, Zeraora, and the Galarian Legendary Bird Trio are but a small selection of the crew. For a complete card roster, check out the official site here.

2. Pokémon Sword & Shield

Dynamax Crystal — Gigantamax Sandaconda Max Raid Battle

From June 18 to July 18, GAME is giving out free Dynamax Crystal codes straight to your inbox! Sign up here with just an email and GAME will send you a unique code for Dynamax Crystal ☆Sgr7348. This in-game item can be used to activate a 4-star Dynamax Battle with Gigantamax Sandaconda in the Watchtower Ruins.

According to GAME, codes will be sent out within 7 days of signing up. We do not know if they are region locked.

Pokemon HOME — Gigantamax Squirtle and Bulbasaur

To celebrate the mobile port of Pokémon HOME, players can redeem both Bulbasaur and Squirtle as free mystery gifts. These two ‘mon come in Premier Balls and with Premier Ribbons and can Gigantamax upon their final evolution.

Redeem via the Mystery Gift menu in either Pokémon HOME or Sword/Shield for the Switch.

Fair and Square Competition

The Pokémon Fair and Square battle competition is taking place right now! Trainers have until June 20 @ 4:59pm PDT to enter the fray; those who participate in at least one battle will be gifted 50 Battle Points via Mystery Gift menu. For more info, click here.

Pokémon Global Exhibition

In celebration of the 25th anniversary, this October will see one of the biggest Pokémon tournaments yet! The roster will include 8 of the highest-ranking Pokémon trainers from around the globe. Exact dates and details are forthcoming. The official announcement can be found here.

3. Pokémon UNITE

Pokémon League of Legends Pokémon UNITE is the newest video game entry into the monster-collecting mega franchise. It’s a 5-on-5 MOBA where two competing teams attempt to dunk on each other the most times.

While in a match, players defeat wild or opposing Pokémon, thereby gaining Aeos energy. When enough energy is collected, it can be deposited in the opposing team’s goal. Of course, there are a slew of moves, items, and evolutions to turn the tide of battle.

Pokémon UNITE will be free-to-play with cross-play between Nintendo Switch and mobile. The Switch version is slated for a July release, while mobile users must wait until September 2021. For more info, visit the official site here.
