‘Tokke’ Has Been Revealed — A Surprise New Sofubi Sculpt by Shoko Nakazawa!

Tokke is Shoko Nakazawa’s newest sofubi!

Big news in the sofubi world: fan-favorite Shoko Nakazawa has just revealed a brand new sculpt that’s joining her reptilian résumé. Introducing: Tokke! He’s probably the cutest lizardy guy we’ve ever seen.

Readers likely remember Shoko Nakazawa from her recent Rotofugi show, Ichijitsu Senshu, where gem-and-mineral-inspired Byrons, Rangerons, and Seedlas sold out almost instantly.

Aside from some one-offs and special oversized editions of her existing releases, Tokke is Nakazawa’s first all-new, all-original character in quite a few years. Suffice to say, we’re pretty dang excited!

This first variant of Tokke is pepto-pink vinyl, with glass eyes and likely hand-painted painted teeth and tongue. He measures just over 4 inches tall, and probably has one point of articulation in its tail.

Like all Shoko Nakazawa sofubi, this one is produced by Taiwan‘s The Little Hut Co. No price has been stated, but we’d guess Tokke will set you back $40-60.

Though the original plan was to release Tokke at Popmart‘s Pop Toy Show Beijing, the event was cancelled due to CoVID. According to Little Hut’s social media, Pop Toy Show 2021 (and thus Tokke) will be moving online, but there’s no official announcement on that yet.

Other than Pop Toy Show, Tokke “will be arriving at [their] retail partners very soon.” So sit tight and hopefully we’ll have more for you down the line!
